Nora HarringtonNORA HARRINGTON began teaching drawing and painting in 1995 when she designed and taught classes for high-school students through the Cooper Union School of Art in New York City. The following year, while living in England, Nora became intensely interested in painting “plein air” (as the practice of landscape painting from direct observation outdoors is known). This interest soon grew into a passion which in 1998 led Nora to move her studio from Capital Hill in DC to Rappahannock County, Virginia.

Since moving to Rappahannock County, Nora has taught classes and given lessons and demonstrations to people of various ages and skill levels. Her landscape paintings have shown in numerous professional galleries and have been collected by businesses, institutions, and individuals as far west as Park City, Utah; Kalispell, MT; and Lake Oswego, OR and as far east as Frankfurt, Germany; Venice, Italy; and Valencia, Spain. Nora’s paintings are available through R.H. Ballard Gallery in Washington, Virginia and through
